Fourteen days, any reason.
If mote is not for you, ask within 14 days of purchase and you get all of your money back. This page is the whole policy; it forms part of the Terms.
The window
14 days from the day you bought, for any reason. You do not have to explain, and it does not matter whether you activated the key or how much you used the app. After 14 days, write to us anyway: we still refund when something is wrong that we cannot fix, and we look at every request individually.
How to ask
Send your order ID to support. Email support@motemd.com or use the support form with the order ID from your receipt (Paddle IDs start with txn_, Korean orders with mote_) and the email address you bought with. We confirm by email, usually within one business day.
Where the money goes, and when
Back to the card or account you paid with. Purchases outside Korea are refunded by Paddle, the merchant of record, to the original payment method; it usually shows within 2–5 business days, depending on your bank. Purchases in Korea are cancelled through Toss Payments the moment we approve them; card companies release the amount within 3–7 business days. Tax is refunded together with the price. Currency conversion differences from your bank are outside our control.
What happens to the key
The key stops working when the refund is issued. A refunded license is revoked: activated devices are signed out on their next check, and the app returns to read-only. Your files are untouched. If you change your mind later, you buy a new license.
Team licenses and partial refunds
Seats you have not assigned can be refunded on their own. A team license can be refunded in full within 14 days like any other. Outside that window, or if some seats are in use, we can refund the unassigned seats and reduce the license to the seats that stay. Write to support with the number of seats to keep.
Upgrades and grace
You are not charged twice for a major version you were entitled to. If you paid for a major-version upgrade and it turns out your purchase date already entitled you to it under the 90-day grace rule, we refund the upgrade in full without being asked.
Where we say no
Abuse, not unhappiness. We may refuse a refund when a key has been shared or published, when the same person buys and refunds repeatedly, or when a refund is requested after a chargeback has been opened for the same purchase. A chargeback is treated as a refund request: the license is revoked when the dispute is opened, and we answer the dispute with the purchase and activation records.
Your statutory rights
This policy adds to the law; it never takes from it. Consumers in the EU, EEA and UK have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases under the terms of Paddle, the merchant of record. Consumers in Korea have a 7-day right of withdrawal under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, and our 14 days include it. Where the law gives you more than this page, the law applies.
